THE FACING HEAD COINS OF: CAMPANIA, HYRIA
Facing head coins of Hyria feature a portrait of Hera Lakinia in the obverse, following a model also used at Croton. The reverse type is a man-faced bull walking to right, representing the local river god. These specimens are scarce in market, and only a few have appeared in the last few years. Hera generally has a dignified, solemn, and somewhat stern expression in these coins. A few examples of the same head type are featured below.

The dating follows Historia Numorum Italy.
